"A gateway that opens within the creative process. The language research acts as both a creative accelerator and a translator of what I envision for the film. It’s a source of inspiration for the entire team — from the screenwriter to the cinematographer and art director."

Karina Imoto
Graduated in journalism and dedicated to translating cultural expressions into powerful and innovative languages, Karina Imoto, founder of CORA, is a creative director and researcher whose work has reached millions of people.
She is the creator of Africa Insights, the language development unit of one of the top three most creative agencies in the world [Africa Propaganda, according to WARC, 2021]; she designed and implemented the Business Value of Design course in collaboration with Hyper Island, Denmark’s global reference in innovation; and she has developed feature films, series, and music videos, in addition to countless commercials for Brazil’s leading production companies, such as O2, Conspiração, and Academia de Filmes. She has also contributed to the creation of languages and strategies that have redefined and innovated the positioning of brands such as Itaú, Natura, Vivo, Heineken, and Coca-Cola.
Aware of the social responsibility and the power that aesthetics and mainstream culture hold in reproducing inequality and reinforcing stereotypes and prejudice, she founded CORA with the purpose of provoking new perspectives—more regenerative ones—that work toward the positive transformation of the world we live in.
