Sensory Codes for L’Oréal

Sensory Codes for L’Oréal

We dove into Brazilian culture to map the sensory codes that govern beauty desire. The findings became a strategic framework for L’Oréal’s Research & Innovation Latin America team — guiding product innovation and brand communication. We also created the narrative and co-directed the manifesto film that gives visual form to this sensory world.

The sensory grammar of beauty

How does Brazilian culture encode pleasure? What makes a texture irresistible, a color magnetic, a scent unmistakable? To answer these questions, Cora developed a cultural cartography for L'Oréal's Research & Innovation Latin America team — mapping the sensory territories that shape desire and beauty perception across Latin America.

The outcome was a system of sensory codes that became a guiding framework for both product innovation and brand communication across the group's portfolio. A translation of culture into strategic raw material for the beauty industry.
